Gaurav Dagaonkar

While surfing the TV, I came across an album called "COLLEGE DAYS" by Gaurav Dagaonkar, which i feel is a must listen for everyone and i am sure that they will like it . The concept seemed to be quite different, with a cathcy title that took my attention, so i grabbed a CD and here is what i found.

This is an album that tells you about a student's life during his good old college times, but life becomes more interesting when you are at IIM, and like everyone, he aswell has memories of his college, those 11th hour preparation, last minute submission of assignments, hanging out with girlfriends etc, and as said by our editor Rahul Sharma, 'Relive your college days, Listen to College days' is the statement that holds true for this album. I still remember the first time when i saw Gaurav's performance at JAMCAT'07,he along with his band members rocked the stage with their energy level and music. At that time i did'nt knew who Gaurav is and what kind of music he plays? But as he started, the whole crowd was driven away with his music. I was desperately waiting for his album to release. And here is what i have to share with you people about the album"COLLEGE DAYS".

A very short album and i must say it won't take much time for you to recollect your golden memories ,if you had any.The album starts with a song called "Om Namah shivay", the music is great especially when heard on a headphone with that tune of guitar moving from one ear to another adding to it is the good studio effects that makes you hear it loud. One would also appreciate the versatality of Gaurav's voice when you move over from "COLLEGE DAYS" (Classic) to a little rough one (Fighting All Alone) ,which is a beautiful english track. The violin used in this album is so melodious that it will force you to close your eyes and cherish the songs. Do i have to tell you about the video"COLLEGE DAYS",i think eveyone must have seen the video and liked it . Frankly speaking i have already added the "COLLEGE DAYS" video in my favourites. 'Alvida' is the next one that has efficient use of guitars, drums and the use of violin is like icing on the cake. It has something for every kind of listeners, and the song selection is such that there is atleast one song that you can identify yourself with, and for the more emotional kind beware of 'Zinda Zinda' it can overwhelm you, similarly the title song can make you slip in nostalgia. Last comes my favourite song of the album called"Manzil",a song that has got a perfect composition and lyrics to it , and how much should i say you can help yourselves by buying the CD's or just download and you will know what i mean to say.

"Recommended to all those who HAVE ever had an education".
